Pat Board
After many years living in Cheshire, working in the craft trade, and raising a daughter, I decided to study for a Btec in art and design at Chester college. This was followed by a move to Taunton in Somerset, where I completed a three year course in textile and surface pattern design, graduating in 1999 with a first class honours degree. By then painting had become my primary focus and since leaving college I have concentrated wholly on watercolour painting. Taking part in many local exhibitions, in particular Somerset Art Week. For me painting is the most direct way of communicating my fascination with the world around me. Whether its the glowing reflections in wet sand, light falling through gaily patterned deck chairs, or simply the patterns formed by windows in an old warehouse; there is always something that needs to be noticed and recorded. I hope you enjoy looking at my work and please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries you may have.If you've been inspired by my paintings to have a go yourself you may be interested to know that i teach a watercolour painting class at my local village hall in Fivehead near taunton somerset every friday morning. It is aimed at enjoyment and encouragement! Should you require any further details please use the contacts page to email me.
